what is your APPROACH TO ART THERAPY?

I view art as a multisensory vehicle for communication and expression. Sometimes words are hard to come by and may not exactly what you want to say, so we bring in art materials, images, colours, symbols to help us express.

OUR PROCESS

Step 1:

Consultation

This steps starts with an email or filling out my consult form. You are invited to share what you are looking for within and throughout counselling sessions, curiosity questions you may have. You might also want to consider your counselling goals, preferred treatment modality, and whether you would like online or in-person sessions based on your preferences and needs.

Step 2:

Intake

After receiving your form, I will invite you to book a 15 min video call to discuss your needs and determine if I can support you. If you are within my scope, we will book a first session. This will accompany an explanation of informed consent and an intake questionnaire collecting some background information about where you're at to help me provide therapeutic support and strategies that best fits you.

Step 3:

First Session

In our first session, we will go over the information provided from your intake questionnaire. We will explore your needs, interests, goals and then collaborate on a treatment plan unique to you. We can decide whether you want a talk or art therapy approach. This plan can always be revisited and adjusted as your needs change.

Step 4:

Ongoing Care

After your first session, you can book additional sessions weekly, biweekly, as needed, or based what we agree on in our treatment plan. Sessions can be conversational, arts-based, or a blend of both based on your needs. You can always expect some strategies, encouragement, and recommendations at the end of each session.

Here's what our space looks like!!
